My 'as new' copy of Adler's book on 'Metallic Cartridge Conversions' just arrived; my B'day/Xmas present to myself. Worth every cent of the $78.49 + S&H it cost!
I'm still waiting on his book on Colt Single Actions, but it's coming, along with Chicoine's latest. I'll be pouring over them all winter, I'm sure. The amount of information is almost overwhelming, let alone the pictures!

We sure are lucky being able to buy mass produced conversions, compared to the 'custom order' basis it used to was. They may require some minor tweaking and tuning, but I can live with that. One of my '71s is being worked on at this time, being fitted with a Ruger-type hand spring.

I'm appreciating my trio of .38 Spl. Open Tops (two Uberti '71s and a Cimmaron '51) a whole lot more, as well as my consecutively #'d pair of Remington conversions in 44-40. I've also got a Remington .44 c/w .45 Colt Kirst conversion, my favourite gun in that calibre.

The conversions have a cachet about them that other guns lack. It must be the ingenuity they represent.

I don't do these things to others and I require the same from them."  John Wayne
