My daughter wanted to make a holster for her boyfriends .357 Ruger. She has tooled a couple of belts, made a purse and cell phone case, but that's about it. She wanted it to be a western Mexican loop style with a snap and strap to secure the gun like his nylon holster. We modified one of Will Ghormley's patterns to fit the Security Six. I helped her cut it out and with the border lines. Even with my assistance, it seems to be coming out ok so far. It's nice to see your kid interested in something that doesn't plug in.  JW

Cheer up things could be worse, sure enough I cheered up and they got worse.

Fine example of bringing your kids up right....We need a lot more of that stuff today.  Her holster looks like it going to be a fine piece of leather. Her boyfriends a lucky fellow too.

I have a Police Service Six that I carried, back when I worked for the Sheriffs Dept. It's quite similar to the Security Six. To this day I occasionally still carry it. I thought about getting a western style concealment holster for it...maybe some day I will. They really do make great carry guns.

Have fun with your project.

Great job!  She can really be proud of that and I'm sure her boyfriend is going to love it!

Good job! This can be the start of a new hobby/sideline money maker for her!

All of the above Pard's have expressed my sentiments exactly. It's wonderful thing to introduce a young person to Leather Working.

Thank you for sharing this with us and please keep us posted on her future projects.
You need to learn to like all the little everday things like a sip of good whiskey, a soft bed, a glass of buttermilk,  and a feisty old gentleman like myself
