Not neccasarily gun related although it could be.My cousin is Seargent at local PD.In our area we have been having ALOT of front door kick ins,a couple days ago a group dressed like Swat yelled swat and broke into a home.tied up the parents and children, looted the place and when they left fired a live round into the ground to alert nieghbors  so 911 would be called. Now some marijuana was invloved but not always the case.

In discussing this with my cousin he said the M.O. now is break in through your back door, find the keys to your car usually hanging or laying in plane view, loading up your car with whatever, hit the garage door button and up she goes and out with your car and goods just like they lived there.

Asking him about alarms he said about all they do is cut down your loses,ADT and such he said  response time is 3-4-5 minute once law enforcement is notified.Just FYI hide your keys or leave them out and maybe get beat till ya fess up where they are,i don't know???.He also said an alarm a very loud alarm in his opinion was the best deterent..

That's a deterrent? How about something in 12 gauge or a calibre starting with the number '4'?

"When you need a cop in seconds, one is just minutes away. Dial '911' and die."

I live in the country.
My Son raises Rottweilers.
You know those dogs that look mean but are really friendly?
Well, these ain't them.

Buddy gets $600 per puppy. We have one right now. You'd have to pick him up.
The difference between having an alarm and a Rottweiler is like the difference in carrying a rubber band gun or a 1911 for self defense.

That just takes a little training. Years ago one of the Dobermans made the Avon Lady do something very similar to Snoopy's Happy Dance just inside my front gate, except that she wasn't happy.
