I will have to give a thank you to starline.  I emailed them to inquire about a 56-50 sample case.  With the 1868 nm I was concerned a starline case would not eject.  Good news, they sent me 2 cases and they eject perfectly.  Now to set up a dummy round for cycling through.

Alas they do not work well in my 1860 Rifle.  The blade ejector gets caught next to the rim and wedges rather solidly.  32 gauge CBC cases for me next...

I recall seeing a gauge that someone made to ensure that rounds would feed correctly in a Spencer.  It had an arm and a curved bit to set oal for different ogive shapes.. I can't recall where I saw it, but it might come in handy at this point.
