To the campfire: Can you help me, please, with the serial number of the Armi San Marco Colt Walker conversion Gus carried in the cult mini series?
According to the serial number the base gun was made 1963.
The pistol is on permanent exhibition at the University of San Marcos, Texas, in the Wittcliff Collection.
Thanks

From the way it is sitting the serial number will be hard to ascertain........
Have you contatcted the museum yet?
I can try for you if needed.

I like the "long cylinder" conversion! Probably made with the installation of a soldered on back ring.......

HH: I emailed them 10 days ago. No response yet. Would appreaciate your intervention.
Regarding the LCC: on my 2 Centaure Marshal LCC the backplate was first glued and then fixed with 2 screws. If you need pics let me know.

I'll see what I can do come Monday!

I was referring to the cylinder being an original with the back turned off and then a new ring soldered ("sweated") on to make it full length.

I guess epoxy would help hold a thin back plate on, the case hardening makes the bottom screw problematic (too thin and the threads frequently break away as you tap even... annealing doesn't always help).

Thanks, HH.
Attached is a close-up of Gus's Walker cylinder: yes, it seems that the breech segment with the nipples was cut off down to the ratchets and then the bored through ring fitted.

I wonder if you could form up some .45 Extra Long Colt rounds for one of those?  Now that would be a hoot and a half or maybe even two hoots. ;D
