Howdy Grizz and the rest of you folks too!!!

I am wanting to know, which of the two brands of 1876 lever rifles are the better gun, the Uberti or the Pederosoli rifle?

I thank you folks for any comments and information on the 1876! I plan on getting one real soon.

I think my Uberti is a well made rifle. It shoots great and has given me no problems.

I have 2 Uberti 1876 rifles, shoot great and look good too.

Most anything Pedersoli makes is good.  However, they do not make a '76.  The other company besides Uberti is Chapparal.  If you read through the older posts on this forum you will note that there have been a lot of problems with the Chapparal.  They are cheaper, but you get what you pay for.  Now some folks have had good luck with the Chapparal, but others have not.

Howdy, Skyrider!

The two makers of the 1876 are Uberti and Chapparal.  I have been very pleased with my Uberti 1876.  Mine is imported by Cimarron Arms.  Good luck! :)

Late to post...

I bought the Uberti 1876 Centennial Model in 45-60 with the 28" barrel (playing out my alias).  I called Taylor's & Company direct. Called them on a Monday and I had the rifle through a licensed dealer on Wednesday... now that is service. Bought the rifle in September and used it in our state long range match in October did well took first place in shooting from the sticks. I have no complaints about it. I did do some action work on the rifle to make it lever more smoothly. I can only say good things about Taylor's and Co... good folks. Love the rifle it is fun to shoot and an "eye catcher". Makes the '73 look small... laughing
