PM your address to me Major,i have had that thing forever,i never even took that little bit of tabacco out.
I see them all the time around here in the antique store and if i wanted another one i could get it cheap enough.I know all the antique dealers..

One of the dealers i know has a spot that is all different  pipes, she has a Kentucky rifle in there for sale too,she paid to much for it and wants to much for it 200.00 it's a CVA good condition but a little roughed up,i wouldn't pay more than 100 for it.Someone slathered the stock with urethane, but it would clean up real nice.!

the bid went over twice my highest and of course I did not win  :-*

The golden colorization is the results of the oils & tars being absorbed by the meerschaum lining
it is concidered desirable  :)
The GOURD Calabach meerschaum style dates back to 30 or 40 years before the 1st World War.
It was popular in England as highend pipe known for it's cool dry smoke. Made more popular still by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes. Interestingly Doyle never describes the pipe in detail , however actor's playing the part on stage used the Calabash.
The reason was it was easily visable and to handle when delivering their lines

here is a stereotype of Samuel L. Clemens with his calabash and another
