Ok after taking a basic class and two followup classes I shot my first SASS match today. I went to Cajon Cowboys here in SoCal. From when I checked in until I drove away it was great and learned even more.
First, Attitudes, theirs were all great! Everyone gave me a little advice with a smile and a pat on the back. I knew I did not do that well but they said I did OK and then they told me their stories when they started.
Second, Safety. Even I knew this but it was reinforced, We are each others keepers. On the last stage I had a squib and they caught it. The RO even helped me dislodge it after.
Third, That Squib, the unshot rounds add to your score, ouch, it was my 2nd shot on a 10 rounder. I wish my stocks went up that fast.
Fourth, bring gloves. This helps when you put the steel away.
I had a great time and look forward to the next match. Just thought I would share

Glad to hear you had a good time.  That's the way cowboy shooting is, for sure...
