Michigan Spencer Serial Numbers

I remember, hopefully truly someone mentioning that Spencers sold to the state of Michigan did not get reported to the national archives.  Does the state of Michigan have a list available?

I have been searching for similar serial #s in the state of Massachusetts, but so far have not found the correct agency or department where those numbers may be on file.  You might try Michigan Historical Societies or organizations, or any departments within the Michigan State Government that might be able to provide that info.

If you know which Michigan units may have been issued state purchased Spencers that might lead you some where . . . and then check regimental histories for those serial #s.
