Hmmmmm, while the photos do seem to be period correct I've seen nothing to support that they depict the subjects allegedly portrayed. I never put myself forward as an expert. I also expect some sort of proof that any item is what the poster says it is.
I've grown tired of this silly argument. Perhaps I'll get interested agin if the photos are ever verified to be of those historic figures.
Yes, I do have more facial hair now.

Who cares, they are as far as we who have been kicking around know them to be .
Steve , thanks again .

Well, send me the photos and I can get several area museums to look at them. Of course they'll want some kind of compensation. My forensic training was toward getting latent prints off of forged instruments. So I'm not the guy for this job. BTW, Police Agencies are far to swamped to handle this kind of work. I'd suggest Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas.

And you really expect that those photos ain't been looked over by many experts in the field many times over already and the conclusion is nobody is really sure if they are the folks some say they are?  Come on, not everybody is so naive.  You don't like the photos Steve posts with the information availible on them fine, the solution is simple, don't look at them. ;)

The only photo of Billy the Kid that I am familar with is the tin type of him standing with his rifle.  I will defer to folks that know more about identifying the people in these photos.

This photo is in the book ¨Peacemakers¨ by R. L. Wilson I believe and personally I believe it to be real as there is just too much coincidence to ignore out of hand, i.e., the odds that a man looking exactly like Pat Garrett would be in a photo with a man that highly resembles the Kid is infinitesimal IMO. Again, that is only my 2 cents.

It is a rather odd coincidence in fact.  ;D I know both pictures have been studied over for years by quite a few experts, both amatuer and professional.  (Read that, the unpaid and the paid.) Doubt "payin' someone else would gain much.  Doubt at this date if anyone will ever be 100% sure.

I'm with FCK. I think it's genuine FWIW. But sure, we'll never know.

If Koch lives in West Palm Beach, I guess it is over to the Cracker Cow Cavalry to make the approach.
