Hello all,

OK, So I am in the market for a new cap n' Ball 1860 Army.

I bought one from a private seller online and when I got it out of the box (new and unfired per the listing) .... I noticed it had some pitting in the bore! The man is willing to refund my purchase but I still need to get another one.

Here is my question .... when I inspected the bore, I noticed the lands and groves seem much shallower and less defined than on some of my other Italian guns. They also seem to be less rifled.

Now to the question .... anyone shot one of these? How is the accuracy? Is it better or worse with this sort of bore configuration?

Just looking for a little advise on the topic. Thanks

I think I sent you a response to your email.  However, I can never find outgoing mail on this site.

Pettifogger,

Yes, you offered some sage advise. Thank you for that!

I was looking to make an heirloom traditional conversion pistol. I settled on finding a Colt 2nd generation but having a hard time finding one for sale. I did find a nice Uberti so am thinking I might just use that for the project.

Thanks again !!
