Today I was shooting at my local club (Black Powder of course!) and TWO different guys who I had been chatting about black powder shooting showed up with brass shot shells loaded with black. The rest of their loads were smokeless but one is getting fully set up to shoot black regularly. He even bought an extra set of guns specially for it. The other is still dabbling. Either way you slice it today there were three guys making smoke, fire and noise where I am usually the only one.

That is one for the Dark Side's win column!

Howdy Hopalong,

That kind of discipleship will quickly qualify you for the esteemed rank of "Master of the Dark Arts".  And all the hooplah that accompanies it.

Good on you!

The Holy Black shooters ALWAYS have the biggest smiles after shooting a stage! The sm***less guys are too often looking grim. No fun there.

We have had a black powder shoot on the fourth Sunday of every month for some time now. The next town has a range which is totally devoted to black powder. They have had some sort of personality clash/implosion and we have inheirited about tem members and our little blackpowder shoot has now become a pretty noisy, sooty, smoky event! We even had a small cannon firing away. The owner let an 8 year old boy touch off a charge and his eyes were like saucers and he had a smile from ear to ear! 200Gns of black and a .75" ball makes a lot of noise, flame and smoke and I think it also made a future soot lord out of that boy.

I must take somepics and videos next time.
All my cowboy gun's calibres start with a 4! It's gotta be big bore and whomp some!

Another plus is building up a team of group purchasers, which always makes shooting the black stuff a lot cheaper.

One of the two guys from my earlier post who shotguns was interested in shooting a whole match with real black so I gave him 200 loaded 45 colt rounds. This last weekend he shot a match with me at Beloit and we both shot wholy black! It was fun. and there we were in the rankings dead last but with grins a mile wide!
