Oh yes, there is no doubt of that.  My "Mark I" version contained an 1/8' SPG wad.  It was all giggles and sherry until a wad splatted against the test target and left a mark in the stockade wall.  A simple re-design by omitting the wad spelled success (with all the c's and s's).

My method is to seat and crimp right away, then wait a while (few hours or next day) to apply coating.

Don't know if anyone is still following this, but I just finished another batch of 50 just now for tomorrow at Fort Battleford.

This time I subbed the cardboard with a Dairy Queen Dilly Bar box.  Bad idea.  What a wrestling match to get them to roll and fit.  Everything went out the window and had to get creative and lucky.  Wetting them caused the strips to swell and I elected to roll them up dry.  This caused it's own problem in that the material would separate and make a mess.  It got done, but the moral of the story is to just use soda can carton material.
