Henry .22 lever action

Has anyone had any experience with the Henry lever action .22's? Just the plain Jane standard models, not the golden boys or any thing fancy.  I was thinking of getting one to use as a cheap ammo trainer.  I have a Marlin 39A that I use as a varmint gun but its a little too long (barrel wise) and way too finincky to cyccle quickly.

Just wanted to know if anyone else had a similar idea and tried it and if it worked.  Thanks

I bought the plain ole 22 Henry last fall.  It's a really nice little gun, same length of pull & lever throw as my Rossi 92 so it makes a good practice gun.  Out of the box, the action was nice & smooth.  I don't think you will be dissatisfied if you buy one.

I have one, smooth as silk from the get go. You should be pleased with it.

I have one. Very smooth out of the box but can be made easier. Very simple to completely disassemble and polish the worn areas. My '73 CodyMatic can be shot by simply flicking your fingers. Now the Henry can too. I paid $150.00 from a pawn shop.
