By golly Jim,  that is Dean

One hell of a Stuntman & stunt coordinator, He was down on location for "Alamo, the Price of Freedom", and I worked with him again on "Rough Riders".
We've got to jaw some occasionally, he had been a Actor and was in John Wayne's "Alamo" and worked on some Dad's Films
namely "PT 109" & "Black Sunday" filmed in Florida.
We have also met along with Chuck "It Do" Roberson at Joni O'Brians Alamo Parties.
Dean has got to be 80 something now and Ernie's 95  :o or so
when planets align...do the deal !

Roger, I met Dean about 25 years ago in Fort Worth at a celebrity team roping. I was working security in my SHeriff's Dept. uniform. DDean is from Breckenridge, Texas, which is a couple hours west of Fort Worth. Dean was a member of the 1960 U S Olympic Track team. He has been battling cancer for the last few years.  Ernest has got to be somewhere between 95 and 97, He is a 33rd Degree Scottish Rite Mason and is a very active member.

Somewhere i've got a video tape  of Dean Smith reminicsing about John Wayne. We were sitting in the VIP lounge at the National Cowboy Symposium in Lubbock Tx and got to talking about the movies. he began to talk about  True Grit and i reached down and turned on my camera and just let it roll. Its a pretty good video.
