ROFLAMAOPMP!

The instant I saw you draw a bead I said "You're gonna get  your ass wet!" Then BOOM! Great self deprecation.

Can't wait to see how the conical performs! ;D

Very cool, Mike, LITERALLY!  I did a similar thing at an Old west Firearms demonstration at a family camp in about 1999.  I shot water jugs full of red food coloring dyed water, WITH A 45-120 Sharps!  I was a little farther away than you, but I got drenched.  Fortunately for me, I was not being filmed!

Mike,

Which will you decided is better, more penetration or less penetration?

Some people are all for being able to put a round thru an engine block, others want the same round to come to a screeching halt   in 4 inches of ballistic gelatin.

Would be cool if you ran the same loads you are shooting at water bottles thru a chrono and calculate muzzle energy for each round.  If they are close to the same M.E. the penetration test would at least tell a bit about terminal performance.

But, realistically, too little is no good and too much is no good. The results are a subject that are best discussed at a decent brewpub with hours to kill.   ;)

Hi Rick,

As a matter of fact, in the full video we accuracy tested each projectile, then chronographed them, then did the penetration test.

As for penetration, what is good depends on what you're doing. Hitting SASS steel doesn't require much, but putting down a wild hog does.

good work ;D  I tried some penetration test with phonebooks some time back.  I still don't want to be shot with any cowboy firearm.  Including a .36 cal
