A hearty second for MVA's blowtubes, machined out of aluminum like they are they don't get crunched, and that rubber o'ring helps to seal the chamber off.
:P Bad part is they don't make one for 44-77.

Try and give them a phone call and ask.  J.C. may be open custom work.  They are fantastic people to deal with.  Had the opportunity to meet them last spring when I was in the area.

I've been meaning to do that.I need a couple more sight bases also. I made one from a 45-90 case, but I wipe most of the time. Altho if they would make some for the 44 I bet they could sell at least a half dozen in short order.

Quote1. Do you buy or scrounge lead?
2. When do you find time to either scrounge or cast? Are you retired?

1.  Have never bought 1 lb of lead at retail prices, only tin.
2.  Started out scrounging WW's when I was working and retired.  Close to 1000 lbs but depleted down to about 3 or 4 hundred pounds now.  I cast all my CAS bullets with WW.  Then I got smart and started going to the scrap yards for pure lead at 60 to 65 cents a lb
Presently, the pure lead inventory is 157 lbs and alloy mixed 1:10 to 1:40 is 431 lbs

It was a snot day a couple of weeks ago, so I inventoried what is in the basement but not the WW's in the shed

I have another sure fire way to make unbeatable blow tubes.

1. I go to work for a few hours.  :)

2. Scrape together the requiste amount after Income Tax and other deductions.  >:(   :'(

3. Order a Montana Vintage Arms blow tube from Shiloh or MVA for 10 dollars.   ;D

     :P
Thanks for this.  I'm a sucker for quality made stuff and I just could not pass their blow tube up for 10 bucks.  While I was there I also picked up a slick little sight insert caddy.  It's quite small, holds the inserts securely and works with the larger Lee Shaver inserts.  I'll post a pic of it in BROW as it is more relevant there.  Plus, MVA shipped the two items to me in a padded envelope for only 3 bucks...cant beat that!

Willy,

I have a set of MVA sights on my Pedersoli Rolling Block and I stand amazed every time I use any product that they carry. Not only do they stand behind their product, but suffer fools and their questions politely (better than I probbly would).
