I found a smokeless load in "The Complete Guide To Handloading", book 2, by Phil Sharpe, which uses 9.0gr of 4759, nad a 158gr cast bullet.
Out of my Yellowboy Carbine, I get an average vel. of1115 fps, and from my 7.5" barrel OT I get an average of 766 fps.

I like something a little more "Gamey."  105Gr bullet, 3.2Gr Tightgroup & a Fed Mag Primer.  I don't know what the velocity is, but I do know there isn't much recoil.  Sort of like shootin a .22  ;D

Joe,
Thank you for the report. I like 4759, which bulks up well in the 38/357.
Cases loaded with 4759 are the most accurate loads I have found.

I used 4759 when I was doing Schuetzen.  Very accurate in my .32-40.  Only trouble was that I had some powder measure hangups due to static-cling.

I think because it was packed in cans that weren't full, and jostled around some.  I took to pre-measuring at home and packing my charges in SKS cases topped with my nylon tuft.

Interesting.  I would have thought you were using 4756 instead of 4759.  I thought 4759 was a moderate rifle round not a pistol round.

I use 4756 for hot 38 special loads for my 38/44 and in my 38 Supers.  I have never bought any 4759 though.
