Thanks, PCR! That's my carbine. Selling my Spencer is worse than pulling teeth. :'( I've wanted one since I was like 8 years old, and it is probably my favorite firearm of all time. But, I've got a house to build, and am having to clean the closet. Just can't justify keeping the Spencer right now.
It's had a trigger job done, has the anti-overtravel shim in the action, and functions great. This is a great deal for somone who wants a good carbine, especially since this one has already had the factory bugs worked out. Check it out, guys! I need to sell it-need the cash.

Thanks for posting this PCR,
I purchased this carbine from Capnball(very nice gentleman to do business with). I had planned to rebarrel an Armi Sport into a Gemmer style sporting rifle but this carbine shoots so well that I'm going to have to buy another Spencer for that project. I used some of the .515  450 grn. bullets (Read alot about the overly fast twist in these carbines) :) that I cast for my 1870 trapdoor and loaded them over a .030 card wad and 33 grains of 2f goex express, quite compressed. OA cartridge length of just under 1.7 inches- I modified the lane extractor to allow the cartridges to feed properly. First 5 shot group at 75 yards... first one about 6" above point of aim, next four in one ragged hole about 2 '' below the first shot.  with the rather rudimentary sights and my aging eyes--- I love this little carbine!!  It feed this load nicely as well.
So  next I ordered 250    56-50 cases from Starline and they were in my mailbox  4 days later!!  now I have some more bullet casting to do ... Thanks again PCR and Capnball.  :) :)
