Lonesome Dove was on AMC this last week, so I recorded it.  Watched it, and sure enough, made me want to get a Henry again!

I just watched Lonesome Dove too! An 1860 Henry is on my "Short List" as well, but I have to pay off a couple of pistolas first....

I have a pard that has a blued iron framed version and it is a beauty...... ;D

I have a like new 44-40 Spencer that I am selling to get a 56-50 Spencer.  Though, I have been seriously tempted to get a 44-40 again, instead.  My last Henry was a .45 Colt, and I loaded my 200 grain .45 Schofield faux-Henry loads.  The problem with them was action fouling.  I really missed the case sealing of the thin mouthed .44-40 Henry I first had.  I could shoot an annual match of 44-40 BP loads with the 44-40 Henry, but the .45 with BP would gum up after 6 or 8 stages.

I want to go the other way for next one.  I have an older 44-40 cc frame now but would love to add a short barl, 18 1/2" I think, .45 brass frame to the stable.  I aleady have a short carrier with which to comvert one to the C.45S and would load with APP which allows them to run longer with smoke.
