Slowhand Bob

OK, guys after almost destroying this first holster, as promised earlier, I finally got the molded sight track in.  This was an uphill battle all the way and I have learned a few things and am still puzzled by a few others.  More experiments with another pattern will hopefully answer some questions quickly(?).  One thing is for sure, the track must be molded in before the holster is sewn closed or the male half will not go in and believe me that is where I almost destroyed the whole thing by try to force the insertion.

Here is pretty much how things went.  After ripping the main seam open everything went as it was supposed to and the results are equal in appearance to the original.  My big shock came when I stuck the Blue Gun in, the holster was still  equally as oversized as what was allowed for the sight track!  The second holster that is the completed one, photos posted elsewhere, is an excellent fit and had been reduced in width by about 3/8"+ to allow for no sight track and that did not seem like much but perhaps leather stretch is telling me that no extra width should have been allowed for a sight track?  The orriginal finished one is promised out and also a bit nice to rip apart so I will make another sample to try this week, if time permits.  More later.

PS: Surprisingly everyone contacting me seems to like the finish I was making fun of, boy can I duplicate that one easily enuff!  Southern boys do not seem to like fancy.
