This is one of the most distinctive looking sixguns of the old west.

Wonderfully informative video Mike. How well does your Remington function with black powder?
A work in progress.

Bull Schmitt

Excellent!!!

Mike we never saw the targets you were shooting at. Was the "clanging" dubbed in after the video was shot??? :P :P

My 1875s handle BP ok, for Remingtons as long as I spray the cylinders with Ballistol every couple of stages.

I tried to get the targets into the frame, but I blew it. They were 15 yards away...standard CAS targets used by my club.

Very nice video.  Guess what I brought home a couple of weeks ago!  It is the same model you used in the video.  I just have to get used to using it.  I will be retiring my two 1858 Remingtons as soon as I get my second 1875.  They are great revolvers.  ;D

BD Mike,  The last issue of GOOW had an article on an 1875 that came with a Black Powder cylinder and had an optional 45LC cylinder.  My wife tossed the magazine before I could get to the local gun shop.  Can you tell me the manufacturer?

I think I see a Christmas present for myself.

Shotgun Franklin

Mine, looks identical to the one filmed except for the grips, is imported by Stoeger and made by Uberti.
With my handload, 200 gr lead RNFP at 940fps, it shoots right on for elevation.
It shoots to the left but I'm going to fix that.
The only real problem I've had is finding a holster locally. I ordered one off of E-bay so soon that will be made right.
I love the way it handles. It not like a Colt at all, it's way heavier toward the front. It really stays on target.
BTW, it has a big wide trigger that makes it great for spinning too.
Yes, I do have more facial hair now.

Galloway

I sure like mine too, not as many screws to tighten after shooting. Wish they made it without the hammer saftey and cross pin though. :-\
