I ordered 250 rounds from Track and projected delivery was December 12, 2011. They have informed me it is still on backorder. Starline says it is backordered until January 6, 2012.

Anybody have different information?

Its been on Back order for at least 9 months.  I've started making my own from 8mm Lebel and 32 ga brass.

I followed that post with interest. I plan on ordering my 56-50 Spencer today (I just sold one in 44 Russian), so I haven't needed the brass. But in about a week or so, I'm going to want to load all the bullets I cast.

Feel free to email me if you what to try either and run into any issues.

You can use 50/70 brass to make the shells for the 56/50. Just cut it  and trim it to proper length.

I'll send you some pics of my spencer and my assorted reloading equipment soon. As for my cutting of the brass  I just use a hacksaw with a fine tooth blade and my Lyman brass trimmer to hold it. I cut it just longer than spec then trimm to the length I'm wanting.  I then chamfer the case mouth slightly.  I use my Lyman Universal brass trimmer with a 50B collet.  I measure   .04-.06 longer than i want for reloading and place the brass in the trimmer. I then lock it in place as best as i can and carefully cut it along the line I marked with a felt tip pen. As I said above I am using a hacksaw with a fine tooth blade. Once i cut the brass to the desired length  then i will trim it to reloading length then I will chamfer the mouth and deburr the case.         So far I haven't seen a need to ream out the top part of the case as i haven't had a lot of time lately to reload.                                                            Two Flints     I hope this is what you were asking for.

Wolflobo76,

How and what do you use to cut your 50-70 brass before trimming and what trimmer do you use?  Please add to your post.
