Source for "Authentic" Spring Clip for Belt Holster?

Does anyone know if there is a source for an "authentic styled" spring clip to make a belt holster?  I really do not want to use a modern style from Tandy Leather.  I saw an article in Guns of the Old West Fall 2010 entitled Gunfighter's Back-Ups and saw a "old timey" spring clip used on the holster in the picture of the Louis Hoffman "Royale" spring clip holster.  Just wondering if any of you know of a source.

Looks like it could be made out of a strap of metal.  If it is spring steel that would be harder to arrange.
