QuoteThe EPP-UG and DD-ROA Flat are two examples.  No over ball mess is needed since the lube is in the grove.

(Note to PUK, the name change on the former DD/PUK/ROA-II was made because of space considerations in machining the name.  No offense meant.  Your name remains in the info sheet that accompanies each mold.)

DD/PUK/ROA   as far as I can see takes up same space as   DD-ROA Flat
                                                                                      DD/PUK/ROA

I `spect you got yer reasons  ::)  Happy New Year to you `n` yours

Again JMOHO... Maybe you could have got slightly smaller print rather than leave a pard behind,..yes, it meant a lot to me !!

Howdy PUK,

DD/PUK/ROA-II has been the official name.  It has 13 characters.  DD ROA-FLAT has 11, if you count the space.  It was a make or break for the name and mfg date space without resorting to abbreviation.

Each mold that ships from Big Lube®LLC has an information sheet that ships with the mold.  This page is dedicated to the originator of the bullet design.  This has been the practice ever since Big Lube was founded.  Recognition of your worthy efforts continues to be part of the sheet that ships with the DD ROA-FLAT molds.  The FLAT came from your contribution and it is enjoyed by those that shoot the bullets in tube magazine rifles.  One side benefit you didn't anticipate is that with the FLAT metplat the bullet has a mite more clearance under the frame.  This is appreciated by those shooting this fine  bullet from Remington 58s and some of the 1860 open tops.

Please accept my sincere apology for any slight.  None was intended.  I value your friendship.

DD-MDA

P.S.  Soon an article in the CC will detail the success of this bullet in the Colt 1911 semi auto pistols.

My sympathies.

The paper will be lost and the story forgotten. The markings on the mould will be all that is remembered.

Who will be credited in the article?

EPP/PUK would have worked fine.

No Slim,

The EPP-UG was designed by the late great El Paso Pete aka Larry Johnson.  The only thing I did was to put a flat on the nose so it could be safely run in tube magazine rifles rigged for the shorter ammo.  The original EPP-UG weighs 150 grains and emulates a round ball without need for lube adjuncts.  It's a great little pill.

Now, there will be an EPP-36 for 36 caliber C&B guns.  It will also feature a flat nose.  Drawing attached.

DD/PUK FLAT

You tell us it is a new plan the gentleman found. It is simple, there is no confusion to the old bullet if you use a new name.

Springfield Slim

Sorry, got my bullets confused. So how about DD/PUK? There is only one, do we need to have FLAT in the name, or ROA? It's not like it only fits Ruger Old Armies.  I didn't call mine the 45Slim SWC-BP. KISS is always a good idea, too much advertising in the name just gets confusing, that's what pictures are for.

Geist Rider, I like your idea.  Drop the ROA, because Ruger already has, and use the simplified moniker.  Your solution is elegant.  Since the article isn't published yet, I have a back stock of DD/PUK/ROA-II molds and new ones haven't been ordered yet, I shall follow your suggestion.

PUK, your information will still be printed in the info sheet included with each mold, regardless.  But, I will simplify the name change to "DD-PUK-FLAT.  Please note that there are dashes instead of slashes.
