This is slightly off topic, but it is 100% black powder shooting.

Lots of people wanted to know more about the guns I used in the Teddy Bear hunting video. So here is a video that just focuses on the two guns involved...the .45-70 H&R Handi-Rifle and the Baikal SxS, 12 ga/.45-70 combination gun.

That was one of the most enjoyable and personally satisfying videos I have ever watched. You enjoy life. Glad you weathered the frigid temps to enlighten the masses. Now I'm intrigued and am thinking of creating my own rifle/shotgun combo. I had a Savage Mod 24 when I was in Jr High but there was only 22LR or 22mag+ 20ga at the time. The SXS is more classic.
I am not a fan of the Handigun due to my experience shooting Plainsman matches with a 1873 Trapdoor carbine and seeing others give up taking their Sharps and rolling/falling blocks out and having someone with a Handigun in some popgun caliber come clean house. At least you seem to be shooting decent loads in yours. I had no Idea they had PLASTIC stocks. How "period"is that? Around here (Pacific NW) they are having both traditional & modern class for Plainsman to encourage the real buffalo guns to be used.
I once designed a CAS stage where we shot a teddy bear as the last round of the stage at close range. My sick intent was to set it on fire with my Walker but alas, they now use fire resistant stuffing and I merely knocked the stuffing out of it rather than creating a smoking corpse. The red water jug was ingenious to create a nice visual. You are a master entertainer for gun nuts like me. Thank you.

I own two side by side combination guns, both Husqvvarnas from Sweden.  My favorite is an underlever Model 17 Kombi in 16 ga, 2 1/2" and 12mm X 44R ( a version of the .50-70, kinda).  The other is a top lever 16 ga and 9.3 X57R (just a bit different from a .38-55).  On one Scandinavian forum someone called them "missionary guns".  No, they didn't include a recipe!

Both are utility grade and are meant to be used by common hunters.  The heavy rifle caliber would be great for moose and boar, the light one was intended for the Scandinavian turkey which were often shot out of the tops of trees and required a very accurate shot.

Hi guys...glad you liked the video.

Hellgate. I'd never use the Handi-Rifle in SASS. For one thing the sights aren't SASS legal. I put this gun together strickly for the woods. I thought you had to disable the ejectors on Handi-Rifles to use them in long range side matchs? My load is 65 grains of 2Fg Goex and a 405 grain bullet.

I used to use a .43 Spanish Rolling Block in Long Range matches, but now I use a Trapdoor carbine. I'll be putting up a video on the Trapdoor tomorrow. As you will see, mine has a very weak extractor.

BDM,
My TD carbine has a nice one. When shooting it rapid fire standing I keep it on my shoulder and flip the block over and it flings the case right past my ear (I'm a lefty). Can't wait to see the TD booming away.
