What kind of gloves did the cowboys wear in the old west???
Hiram Ranger #100, Westside Sportsmen Club, NCOWS 3395, SASS 90169, NRA, Col. Bishop's Renegades... Cowgirls are like barbed wire...handle with care.

St. George

Knitted wool, for the most part.

Cavalry Gauntlets, as well - but not commonly - and those were often beaded, when near a Fort.

Leather gloves were available via the Mail Order Houses - check any of the reprints of the pre 1899 'Sears, Roebuck & Co' and 'Montgomery Wards Co.' catalogs, and you'll see little, if any difference in styles.

Elastic wasn't in play though, so look for a tight knit at the wrist.

Vaya,
