Often called the 1858 Remington, this is one of the more popular guns of the Civil War and perhaps the most popular C&B replica with modern shooters.

I like it, when you do that next one on Remington mods, be sure to include a minute or two on loading with an off the frame cylinder press.  Let them Colt boys see what they are missing!

Another fine video. One comment regarding the capper you recommended: The snail style capper is fine for leisurly loading prior to shooting the stage but it is a poor one if you need to load on the clock. A friend of mine used a snail capper during a Regional shoot for an "on the clock" 6 shot reload and the cap turned sideways, jamming the capper. It cost him 6 misses and likely the 1st place Frontiersman award. I highly recommend an in-line (straight line) capper for timed "reloads" since you can easily clear a tipped cap by just pushing it out of the way and moving on to the next cap. He couldn't do that with the snail style. I have always felt bad about that since I wrote the stage and assumed everybody (the C&Bers) used straight line cappers like I did but he didn't have one.

Hi Hellgate

When I shoot C&B at a match I use snail cappers at he loading table, but I always have a Ted Cash straightline capper on a cord around my neck...just in case.

I prefer the straight line cappers, but they only hold 20 or 25 caps. That's why I use snail cappers.

Makes sense. The Pedersoli in line capper holds the most caps. The rest maybe 12-20.
