Here are a few pics of my "New" Webley No.5 New Model Army Express in .476/.455/.45Long Colt; was retailed by Army & Navy C.S.L. and sold on 9 November, 1886.

 Also took a picture with my Webley WG to show size comparison. The antique picture was me messing around with my camera.

A very nice gun, amazing how close they were to a Colt 1878 double action.

Yes indeed! As you most likely know they were produced as a direct competitor to the Colt 1878, and having held both revolvers I will say I prefer the way the Webley feels in my hand, a bit more substantial to me anyway. However I really liked the way the Colt that I fired handled and having not yet shot this Webley I can't comment on its overall performance. Another plus for the Webley is that I don't believe they have the fragile lock-works of the earlier Colt double actions!

There is a saying that goes something to the effect of "Colt conquered America, and Webley conquered the rest of the world" and in regards to this particular style of revolver it seems Webley wanted their piece of the US as well.

I'll be using a S&W Schofield cowboy load that I have made up for me and which I use in my WG as well. I hope to get out and test it after Christmas and New Year are over.
