I recently purchased a pre-owned but unfired 3.5" Uberti Schofield. With the action open, there is a little bit of side to side play in the hinge pin. When closed, it seems to lock up tight. Is it normal to have some side to side play in the hinge pin?
Thanks for your help!

St. George

I've seen this on every Italian Schofield I've handled.

The weapon 'must' lock up tightly - so long as it does that thing - you're all right.

Try tightening the hinge screw just a bit. They sometimes work a bit loose. See if that helps. Otherwise St. George is 100 percent correct, as usual.
