General Julius F. Howell was in an old old family album along with the other smaller ones shown.I have found a little bit on him but not much. That is his wife on the right and a Mrs.David B.Trader on the left, aparently he had something to do with the Gettysburg memorial but i have no idea why this is in the old family album,no date on that pic. i believe that small pic in the rear the fellers name is Palmer..Just wondered if there was anyway to find out more..Also that smaller pic of the gal has a gold locket around her neck,my sister wears that locket now.

Nice meerschaum pipe. ;D

I believe that is a picture of Julius Franklin Howell,he was head of the United Confederate Veterans at the time and one of the organizers of a statue comemorating Gen.James Longstreet at Gettysburg.Google search Julius F Howe Gettysburg, there is even some old film on YouTube of him.He was not a General during the Civil War but a Corporal.

Thanks,i collected a few pipes awhile back, that little black one is in the shape of a gun.I need to put a smoke through that merchaum one to age it a bit.

Sure wish i could figure out why he was in the family album..I got them after grandpa passed along with a very old telescope with sharskin wrap.the first view window is actually a lead chrystal stone polished on each end. :-\ ???
