As I have said before, I really like the .44 Pietta Navies that come in a shiny finish at Cabellas.  Early on I thought these were a stainless model but several people said no but I have since read a report that states it actually is not just their run of the mill steel in a polished finish but closer to a stainless.  It looks like I may be getting closer to getting a pair of Kirst Converters for these but now wonder if the cylinders would match well if in a polished finish or if it might just be better to leave them blue and accept the contrast.  If the Kirst cylinder tends to rust more quickly than the rest of the gun it would probably not look very good either.

The Pietta guns from Cabellas are polished steel.  Not stainless.  Once well polished you would not be able to tell the real difference in the Kirst parts.  Well maintained, neither will rust appreciably.
