We live on vancouver ISLAND.  Totally surrounded by "the salt chuck".  The good merchants take advantage of our supposed isolation.  I prefere to think of it as a protective moat.  At Nanaimo, 1.5 hours from Victoria where I live, there is a Princess Auto store, Western Canada's answer to Harbour Freight.  There is another one outside of Vancouver.  If I drop South of The Line, there is a real Harbour Freight at Bellingham, WA.

I enquired at a florist about the foam, which they were happy to order for me by the case.  I'll stick with Cream of Wheat.

go to a craft store sir Charlie you will not have to buy it by the case and it is not very expensive
I may not be the most important person in your life, but when you hear my name, I hope you smile and say That's My Friend

Slowhand Bob

I first saw it recommended as a way to get smoke out of the Uberti Schofields without having them lock up from fouling.  Forget the exact ratio but lets say a half case of the old Clean Shot (long gone) bp sub, next use a length of backer that fills case flush to the mouth and then compress down with bullet.  It worked great and I used it for a spell before finally realizing that I could get around its use with other techniques.  Its a very slow loading process and I do not intend to go that route again.  Now, the other use for all the left over backer rod is as plug material for cleaning my bp guns.  I compress a small length of it into my rifle chamber, bolt closed, and then with the gun muzzle up I flood the barls with cleaner fer a short spell.  Backer also comes in .75 size and works great as a plug for soaking the shotgun barls also.  Pour excess cleaner back out through the muzzle and clean as desired.
