Guys, been busy on a new holster design, or actually more like reproducing an old one.  It appears to have been an old take off of the Spaghetti Western holsters or even the much earlier TV/movie westerns.  I think they are an attractive design, if I can actually make one.  If it were not for my modern 1911 I would not have to worry about a sight channel and it would be an easy do.

Hope to get my shotgun back soon and should then be ready to shoot Wild Bunch.  Will be using a 44-40 Uberti '73 short rifle for a spell.   http://www.cascity.com/forumhall/index.php/topic,41454.0.html

Good to hear that the rule on covering the ejection port has eased.

I've got both a Triple K 'Wild K' and an El Paso Saddlery 1930 'Austin'. I bought them before knowing the rules, the Triple K while I was waiting for the El Paso.  Both have exposed triggers and if you aren't a disciplined 'straight finger draw' type, you could touch the trigger. The safety is properly not operated until the gun is on it's way up to the aim, in the hands of a skilled shooter, so it's moot.

I'd hate travel to a match only to have my leather declared illegal. The only 1911 holsters I own that have both a covered ejection port and trigger are my old Milt Sparks IPSC rig (muzzle forward cant) and a GI shoulder holster.

My thought on this design is that it is actually pretty good in that department.  Though the trigger guard rests on a shelf, the swell of the holster pouch at the mouth well covers the full trigger.  That design gives reduced drag while safely blocking that trigger.
