The following Email was received early this morning.  I received a similar one to this awhile back, but it came from a ?member of SSS, who never posted on SSS.  

This recent Email is just too much.  Geez, they're out there

This is Miss Grace Williams from Trinidad &Tobago. I am writing from the hospital in Cote D'Ivoire, therefore this mail is very urgent as you can see that I am dying in the hospital. I was told by the doctor that I was poisoned and has got my liver damaged and can only live for some months.

I inherited some money ($3.5 Million) from my late father and I cannot think of anybody trying to kill me apart from my step mother in order to inherit the money, she is an Ivorien by nationality.

I want you to contact my servant with this information's below:

This is the favour I need when you have gotten the money :-

(1) Give 20% of the money to my servant David as he has been there for me thought my illness and I have promised to support him in life. I want you to take him along with you to your country and establish him as your son.

(2) Give 10% of the money to handicap people and charity organisation.
Note; This should be a code between you and my Servant David in this transaction "Hospital" any mail from him, the barrister he will direct you to, without this code "Hospital" is not from the barrister, David, the bank or myself as I don't know what will happen to me in the next few hours.


(3) the lawyer's name is Mc Lambert Adams. And Let David send you his International Passport as he has no passport to be sure of whom you are dealing with. David is so little therefore guide him.


And if I don't hear from you, I will look f or another person or an organisation.

Its most likely a bot.  Get Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware scanner from cnet.com.

I got hit a couple of weeks ago.  Usually it comes attached with a toolbar from a company called SPIGOT and the toolbar file name is WIDGITOOLBARFF.DLL.  It is usually found in C:\PROGRAM FILES\COMMON FILES\SPIGOT\WTXPCOM\COMPONENTS\.

Search your directory for all references to the company and the toolbar itself, delete them, restart and then delete the file.

What this software does is capture your email password and then sends out this kind of message along with Viagra and porn ads.  It does so through your email account and sends them to all your friends in your address book.

Ah My Dear Two Flints -

the frist is but a monor variation of the classic Nigerian scam that has been around since inexpensive international snail mail .
I assure you, it only "appears" to be from an SSS member. hackers are collecting personal info in order to impersonate individuals for a variety of nefarious activities.

the second may not have been "from" the individual you suspect, as it has the classic pattern of what is called the "facebook scam" -
so named because some hackers stole data from facebook a while back, and used it to email the appeal for funds impersonating
the individual.

recently another variation has been elders getting cell phone calls from individuals impersonating their grandchildren supposedly in jail,etc asking for bail money to be wired....

Pity it isnt possible to send nasty viruses to eat up there computers - I got strong feelings about scumsucking deviants who scam people - if I got hold of them Albert Pierpont would look like an angel and the trip to Purgatory one way!
