Reliable 7 rd Mags for Wild Bunch

I'm having a hard time finding a 7 rd magazine that will reliably feed 200 grain LSWC ammo, and fit flush with the mag well. My first mag in the pistol is always a pre 1916 Colt mag that feeds flawlessly. For years in other shooting disciplines the Wilson 47D was the mag of choice but its baseplate sides below the bottom of the mag well. Any recommendations?

Chips or Tripps are your Huckleberry, depending on the thickness of your wallet.

I have a thin wallet, so I use Chips.

Chip McCormick magazines are very reliable.  The McCormick 8 round magazine fits flush with the butt on all my 1911 guns.

Hi

I have six or eight of the seven round Metalform magazines with the round follower.  I've used these for shooting NRA Conventional Pistol for about 6 years now and they reliably feed 185 grain Lead Semi-Wadcutters.  Metalforms are relatively inexpensive.

Midway puts them on sale regularly, or you can always use a promo code to lower the price.  Dillon has them for a good price all of the time.

I've never had a problem with late-issue G.I. magazines - the type with the NSN on the floorplate.

If they handle wadcutter - they'll handle anything.

Thanks guys, I'll check them out and even look in the next Cheeper Than Dirt that I receive.  Right now I only have four good blue ones but plenty of stainless versions.  Have been told by several pards that I need either seven or eight dependable mags minimum, for official style matches?

I bought a couple of Tripps and tried them out yesterday. They worked flawlessly in my original 1943 mfg Colt and I had problems in my 1914 mfg Colt, fitted with an aftermarket barrel. In researching the problem it could be the overall length of my ammo (1.245").

At the not so fat wallet end of the spectrum I like MecGar magazines.  I have had some not so satisfactory results with some Chips.  I had no feed problems but the slide lock function was a bit "iffy". Your mileage may vary.
