This is a gun I started cobbling together over 20 years ago. It holds a special place in my heart because it was the subject of my first article for Gun World Magazine back in 1990.

Thanks, BDM. A very enjoyable video and history on that gun. I still shoot a variety of C&Bs (two pairs of serious match pistols are '51 Navy 44s and Millenium Uberti '58s in 44) but if I had to do it all over again with what I now know, I'd get a pair of Uberti SS 5 1/2" Remingtons and I wouldn't need the other 13 or so guns. However I sure have learned a lot having owned about 30 different 36s & 44s over the years. Ain't it nice to see that you were ahead of your time? My hat's off to you.

Since I have 14+ guns, I've been called the Imelda Marcos of Cap&Ball. Now, that's a COMPLIMENT!

I am with Hellgate if I knew now what I didn't know then I would have never owned 1873 colt copies.  I would have been a converted cap and ball gun and OT shooter!

Awesome video.

I have at least one example of all the Colt C&B revolvers as well as a host of Remingtons...I don't begrudge spending a dime on any of them.

I don't usually shoot them in matches. I do one or two C&B matches a year. The rest of the time I rotate through a battery of conversions and made for cartridge guns. But I love shooting the C&Bs.
