I have been obsessed with these glasses since I was kid and saw them in my Time Life Book on the Old West.  I've looked all over and cannot find any like them.  I know River Junction has some but they are only slightly blue.  And I've seen some almost like that at eyeglasseswarehouse.com, but I'm sure they are $$$$$.   :'(

My last chance is if someone knows where to find some similar to the pic of the ones attached.

These are two sources I have used. The reenactor's McAllister Oval specs from Focusers are the ones I had optometrist put my prescription lenses in.

p.s. To get that shade of blue, you may have to look at glass paints at craft stores made to simulate stained glass, or theatrical supply outlet for gels used to coat theatrical lighting to give tinting effects when lighting sets.

Perhaps one of the outfits that supply the 'Steampunk' folks can oblige.

The tinted lenses I have were done for folks with eyes weakened by some malady, or another - most notably the WWI Doughboys who'd suffered eye injuries in gas attacks, and those with 'social' illnesses.

My other son, not BoJon whom you have shot with, has been wearing Focusers glasses for several years.  They are not cheap but you dont have to buy them again because they broke, the first time you used them.

YEAH!!!  I found my glasses on Ebay.   ;D 8) ;D

They look really close to the Time Life Books pic.

Professor Marvel

With all due respect and as delicately as I may phrase it, the tinted lenses were most often worn by those affected by migraines and  the final stages of certain unfortunately common and untreatable .... ummmm ... social diseases.

True.  However I've researched it alot since I saw these in my Time Life book on the West and these were used by gamblers who marked the cards and are known as lumious readers.

They aren't sunglasses nor for the insane.

It would be an interesting card game if everyone at the table wore these glasses.

Laura M Hayes

You could prob recognize fellow cheats with them and keep moving to another table.  Ha.    :D

I did.

Maybe they'd just shoot anyone seen wearing them, instad of waiting to actually catch them cheating!

It's the best thing to do to a cheating gambler with a social disease. ;)
