I was looking at buying some unwaxed thread for hand sewing at http://www.campbell-bosworth.com/
and found
TH-LN5LNT   LINEN THREAD: 5 Cord, Left Twist, Natural   $31.88

and

TH-BR5LNT   Barbours LINEN: 5 Cord, Left Twist   $50.97

I am trying to understand the large difference in price. Both are 1 lb. Any ideas?
God is fluxing me which is good but it is not fun.

IMO pay the extra for the Barbours - it's just plain better thread in my experience. I've tried several other brands of linen thread over the last 50 years of working leather and Barbour's is still the tops..........and in the long run cheaper too...the less expensive is made in Hungary (?IIRC) - it is a harder lay thread and whether due to that or not I got a lot more broken threads with it, not a real major problem. but for me a PITA when you're sewing everyday while trying to make a living.........

I second what Chuck said here, I listened to chuck , when this came up a few years ago, I bought it, and find it to be the best yet, it has never broke on me like the Tandy thread did so many times, and is a pleasure to sew with, it is just the best quality thread I've used.

Thanks again Chuck for the heads up.
