Hello I reallize this is a forum for 1876's but I was hoping someone could help. I have located a 1873 made in 1876 that no one other than the devil could have worked on. It will never be anything more than a shooter, but thats what I've been looking for. Gun works excellent but...someone bored out the riflings took the rear sight off and put a shotgun bead on the front. All the gun smiths in my area are not sure if it can be relined, as all that they reline locally is 22's. So I would love to find a new barrel to put the life back in this old beauty and put a smile on my face! Please help, Thank you!  :-\

Look beyond your neighborhood. Bobby Hoyt lines lots of Henrys for N-SSA shooters. I'm sure he could do a '73. I did a 44-40 Whitney in a condition similar to yours, using a Brownell's ready made liner. It is a tack driver.

For an original Winchester barrel - try Buckingham's.

Just got back a Smith Carbine Bobby Hoyt relined last week. Took it to the range Monday and it's shooting a tight group at 50 yards.

If original is not a requirement, you might consider a Badger Barrel  I put one on an old shot-out 73, and turned it into an awesome shooter.
