What diam bullet is most used in Uberti .44 cal open tops ? .428 ? .429?  .430 ?

I'm considering a 200 or 205 grn flat nose bullet, but am curious as to what most Uberti .44 cal cartridge handguns slug out at ?

Thanks

ALWAYS slug. Better yet, use pin gauges if you can. NO exceptions as every gun is a rule unto itself. I have Uberti revolvers that are 0.431" & 0.430" & have owned some that went 0.432". Depends on worker & the tool wear. Just go buy a box of soft lead round 0.454" balls. Skip the barrel. Slug the chamber mouths and size/buy bullets accordingly. The barrel is irrelevant for the most part.

For CAS in .44 Colt cal. revolvers and rifles I use 200 grainers (+/- 5 gr) of .428 to .430, whatever I can get cheap.
If accuracy is the job I am using .430 dia 200 grainers of 16 BH in the pistol and 240 grainers in the rifle.

Without slugging, I'd go with .430.  Standard barrel bore for .44 Spl is 429.  You might even find lots of Uberti .44s that are 429.  Mine are, which makes .430 bullets perfect.
The cylinder throats are a different matter.  Undersize cylinder throats cause all sorts of problems.  I have reamed ALL my .44 Open Top and Conversion cylinders to .4305 to insure the bullet fits the bore.
Being the gamer that I am, I shoot 160 Grn bullets with just a smidge of Tightgroup powder.

PS:  Most of my cylinders did not require reaming.  If we were talking Rugers ............  >:(

Several good bits of advice already...I use .430 in mine. haven't slugged the bore (saw no need to), but I tested my .430 bullets which nicely clear the actory chamber throats (just drop them through). I use .44 Russian brass & BP. Good combination.
