I'm a big Ken Curtis fan also,he lived about 30 miles north and they have a statue of him at a bank in Old Town Clovis. You will hardly ever see Kens name associated with Gunsmoke, some type of leagle rights battle years ago the studios never got over.Of course we all watched Gunsmoke to see all the good charactors... :) :)

I'm gonna learn that one on my harmonica~~I can almost play along with it... :)

I have a framed print of Matt and one of Festus that were done by my good friend Buck Taylor. The prints are hanging in my den, along with other Buck Taylor prints. I was in the 3rd grade when Gunsmoke first aired. We only had 2 channels on the tv, NBC and CBS. I watched all the western tv shows of the 50's and 60s.  Matt will be missed.

I would like to see those Texas... :) My friend Ivan Jesse that did the artwork in my other post new him from art shows they did together at times, you will notice Buck in that one.Ben Johnson had a rodeo and i am sure they both were there,i know Ivan was Ben would hang out at his tent to hide from autograph hounds,he showed me alot of pictures of Ben at his house.Man we sure lived and grew up during some great times knowing guys like James Arness were really around when we were growing up,if i would have been older and knew that i'd have been knockin on thier doors... ;D Simple shows with alot of meaning..Man we had it all and cool toys to go with it..We ain't never stopped playing with them..Nice that you have those prints~~ :)

I got to meet Ben and Buck at a celebrity roping they were hosting in  Fort Worth in 1985 or 1986. I have a print of Ben that Buck did about 15 years ago. I have about 8 of Buck's prints that are framed and hanging in my house. I see Buck several times a year. He has a part in "Cowboys and Aliens". Buck is a great friend of mine and I enjoy seeing him during the year.
