Well, it seems I bought up all the old stock of .457 round balls in my area that were 1/2 or more less then new Hornady stock.....

.....anyway, anybody know of any Cowboy casters, or indy companies that cast .457 round balls?

Thanks.

There will be a big lube ball moulds available soon. Don't help now, but food for thought for the future.

Those dang Cap and ball gunz, you always seem to be struggling for one thing or another, if you can get balls you cain't get caps, got caps? Whoops, powder seems to be hard to get, lol.
All my cowboy gun's calibres start with a 4! It's gotta be big bore and whomp some!

Thanks Mako,

Yes, there IS a .457" six cavity RB mold in the works.  Much has changed here, but going forward, things should be a LOT faster.

I'm planning to bring .457", .454" and .380" six cavity RB molds to market.  I've just bought another 1000 pounds of aluminum extrusions and 2000 ss alignment pins and sockets.  I got the aluminum ordered before the last spike in metals.

So, yes, they are coming. . .

I don't always offer them, depends on how busy I am and what mood I'm in! When I get some of DD's moulds I will have them all the time. Right now using 2 cavity moulds isn't very appealing most of the time, I'm spoiled with the 6 cav moulds.

Dick,

any guess when (what month maybe) you will have the 6 hole .457's ready?

Tooling is in the works first.  Then, filling the inventory cue of existing Big Lube®LLC molds that are out of stock or getting low.  Next comes the RB molds.  The firm that I'm working with has purchased a $300,000.00 tool making machine and is getting it up and running by mid may.  That means that they will be able to manufacture their own carbide mold making tools.

I'm not going to guess at how soon they will be up and running, but as soon as they are molds will get done very promptly.  I should be able to keep my inventory stocked.  They are projecting a five day lead time for mold orders.

That's the best I can say right now.  I'll keep you up to date as things develop.

FWIW, there's a huge pent up demand for the six cavity RB molds.

I keep waiting for LEE to beat you to it. Let's hope they don't.
