All,

My newest addition to the family. Fantastic shape, nickle looks original to me & bore is very fine as well, has no retailers markings. Missing the lanyard ring, anyone know where I might pick one up?

Regards, John.

WV,

Yes, I shoot them, or will shoot them. All with black or substitute of course (except for the repro, and maybe even in that as well). I don't reload is the problem, so finding someone to load the calibres is tough sometimes.

Irish Dave & Montana,

Thanks very much gents. I do love those church steeple flute on the newest one: if you watch the new Sherlock Holmes it is almost identical to the one Sherlock (Robert Downey) carries. I hope to keep the family growing, new members are always welcome!!!!

Regards, John.

I think you need a French 1873...

The 11mm french round is tough one to reload but there are a few places that do reloads for them.

I have a pair and they will soon to e turned into 44 Russian French pistolas...

Pony,

Actually sold my French 1873 Chamelot Delvigne revolver last year to fund the purchase of my first Webley. I love the way they are built, like a tank, and if I hadn't been bitten by the Webley bug I was just about to order a reloading kit from a company in France.
Hadn't thought about having one converted to .44 Russian, which is a shame since that is what I fire in my 1860 Richards-Mason conversion. Could you tell me the process you are having done to yours & if not being too nosy-The Cost?

Regards, John.

Have not gotten into costs..but will have to smooth out the barrels and line to .429 for 44 russian.

My smith says he will just get a rile barrel ength of the liner and cut in half.

Then the cylinders will need a very small amount of work for the rims.

Maybe some minor timing and trigger pull work after that.

The load 1.0cc of powder is almost same load in BP as the french 11mm and the firing pin bears a resemblance to the better OT firing pins.

I may have to play around with the sights but based on other conversions I doubt they will have to be played with that hard.

My local clubs in VA have no issue with me shooting them in cowboy matches and thats what I intend to do once converted!

I will keep you posted once we get into them.
