Cutting strap

I cut a 6"-ish strap a couple days ago. The end product will be a 2-3/4 or so inch wide money belt style gun belt.

Of course, a typical strap cutter can't cut something 6" wide, so I cut it free hand. I've done that a bunch of times before. Freehand cutting always leave a less that square cut that takes a bit of finagling later to pretty it up.

This time, after I cut it with a rotary cutter, I took my strap cutter and took and 1/8 of an inch off one side. The result was a nice, square cut.

I only cut one side. When I sew it together I will leave a tiny bit of the other side sticking out and then trim it to match.
