Current Colt production VS Second gen

I guess I made a mistake by posting my actual experience gained by handling and shooting Colts.  It seems I should have just read the company's advertising and reposted what they said was true.

But just a warning, if that stuff that is flaking and falling off the frame is just wax, don't use it on your car or anything else.  The color comes right off with it.

And yes I do own and shoot USFA single actions and Ruger single actions too.

If the 'color' is flaking off call Colt, something sounds wrong.

the people who buy guns and never shoot them is something i have never understood. i have collected all the colt second generation cap and ball revolvers as well as the third generation saa. i shoot all of them. if you clean them after a shooting party the finishes will last for years., all my c&b pistols have been shot hundreds of times and they still look new. i can see not shooting something thats very old or worth a lot of money, but current production why not?kurt250
