While in Columbia last weekend I stopped by Tandy to pick up a couple of items.  Seems Tandy has discontinued the Oak Leaf double shoulders, of which I use a lot but do have something new in stock.  They now are carrying a quality European line of single bends that is really nice but the price will cause sticker shock.  At a business price of $100 for a 10 to 12ft single bend WOW, but must stress that it looks as uniform as butter and feels smooth as a babys bottom.

I was also there to pick up some conchos for my buddy that works on wood.  He uses the leather fixins to dress up his wood projects.  I also picked up one of the new style stitch groovers, plus extra blades, but still have not taken it out of the bag.  The wife really has me running due to the some of our early spring like weather and it is causing some back up on the bench but I am just about ready to put my foot down on all this silly runnin  uhhhh,  OK, gotta go, the wife wants me to take her somewhere!

Slowhand I brought some on Monday to try. I dont like it near as much as my Wicket and Cragg standard which is spendy also. I ordered a nine  hides 2 weeks ago and since they had a price raise I paid about $200.00 for a side. With shipping it was not cheap. KT
Cheer up things could be worse, sure enough I cheered up and they got worse.

But really, isn't most of the cost of a leather object labor? And I think there is nothing worse then cutting out some leather and getting started on a holster or gunbelt and find some flaws in the leather that you didn't see before(and really shouldn't be there).  No matter how good you are if you start with sub-standard leather the item will never be as good as it should.

For double shoulders check out RJF Leather - great old time pit tanned hides from Portugal and last time I checked the price was $5-7.00 a sq foot dependent on grade........they average 14 sq/ft and come in all common weights. He also sell sides.

Most weights are about 6  bucks a square foot or maybe a bit less.

these are premium, and trimmed to remove the weird, useless parts
