Resized them to email size but keep getting told "file too large". Sure would like to share my project. Advice please? Thanks, Don

Each thread message has a max of 150KB for the attachments.

Meaning if you had three pics on one post, each could not get bigger than 50KB

However, if you wish to post really big pics, you can open up a photobucket account, cut and paste the pics into photobucket, and then use the address INSIDE the box ..... Kind of a pain, but the best quality for a detailed big shot ....

P.S. If cascity.com says a file is 'too large', it is best to go someplace else on the site and repost later. I have tried to repost a second time and the website goes back to the original post and says that I am too big ....

Also, if you have a Windows setup, you can sometimes right click the photo and then hit 'properties' ... and the resulting inset will tell you how many KB are in the pic ....

Hi WaddWE. Actually I tried to send you an email with the photos, but couldn't get the email to take the files. I've tried several times to post pictures without success. Will try again next few days. Right now my horse is on our brick hearth. Solid poplar from my father-in-law's barn. Swivel vise with turned oak handle for tightening. Brass tube lined index holes to prevent wallowing. Blue glass marble eyes on a removable hobby horse head that serves as decoration when in use as a quilt rack. Leather shelf underneath. Leather fringe tail, mane, ears , and halter. Leather seat. Simple embossing done with tools I made from stainless steel bolts. Matching poplar toolbox with leather top handle and a divided tray. It's so nice to be able to combine wood and leather. Thank you everyone for your encouragement. Going tomorrow to Morgantown, KY to the veg-tanned leather wholesaler to get more material. looking forward to trying more holsters for my Rugers. Don

Skip - Got to disagree about the max size of images - that 150KB limit has got to be per IMAGE not per post. I size my all of my images at 80-90KB max each and often post more than two or three in a single post - IIRC there's a max number of images per post, 5 I think...........

Chuck,

I Dunno .... if I want to put anything with detail in it, I use photbucket and put it inside of the reply .... I try not to deal with their attachments ... like Tall Bald, I go so many 'Your file is too large' statements that it was just easier and quicker to use photobucket ... or something similar ...

You are up late ... hope you are feeling good and not up because laying down makes breathing difficult ... I just got over a couple of weeks of a respiratory bug myself ....

I use to open the image in paint and scale it down to right size,
That works for me  :)

Tallbald, awesome job pard, I like the horses head that fits over the bolt, well thought out to say the least, and should last a life time and then some, thanks for sharing.

That's a beautiful stitching horse, TB. Very nice work. I also like the horse's head. It looks like you made storage for your tool box underneath the seat. That's a good idea.

I usually resize my pics to 640x480 and they always go in. I believe the limit of 150K is per image, like Chuck said. At any rate, you got your picture in and we get to enjoy it. Thanks for sharing it.

TB - what a great stitching horse!  It's like a fine piece of furniture!  Like the others, I love the horse head too.  Now that you have it done . . . is the next step to make a saddle for it complete with stirrups?   :)  Thanks for sharing . . . it really is a beautiful one!  Have fun with it!   :)

Your horse ain't got no hair??? Maybe ya should have built a stitching hair ;D ;D ;D

Thank you all for the compliments. At 5 feet tall to the top of the mane with the head installed, it turned out bigger that planned, but at 6 feet 5 inches and 285 pounds, I'm bigger than my mom and daddy planned too. As to stirrups, my wife has a set of wooden sturrips from her saddle years ago (she's a farm girl and had at one time 15 of the beautiful beasts). She told me I could use them on the horse if I wanted to. We'll see. Right now I'm eager to get making a full flap holster for one of my Ruger Old Armies. I bought a little over 28 square feet of beautiful veg tanned 7/8 today at $3.75 a foot. Sure do love going there. Thanks again, Don

Tallbald, I am a little slow on the draw here.  I did not realize you got the picture to post.  Dang son, that horse turned out darn nice.  I love the head for when not in use.  You do some mighty fine wood crafting so I can only imagine how great the leather will turn out.
