Hi all.. I have been looking to get a Remington Carbine for quite a while now.. I have missed a couple good buys on other forums...

I have read mixed reviews on them and I honostly don't know what I really need one for, but....so I was wondering if anyone here could share there opinion on the little carbines and  could either talk me out of buying one, or if they are the next best thing since sliced bread ;D

Does anyone have one that they would like to sell for a fair price.. (sorry I just can't afford the $550 cabela's is asking :-\... especially when the one I missed on the auction sight was $450 with an R&D 45colt conversion cylinder included)

PM here is just fine
Thanks
Wes

Have never had one . . . not a real practical firearm . . but one of those  "I'd love to have one" for some poeple.  $ 450 with a conversion cylinder  . . . . and missed it . . . would make ya cry for shore . . . .  :'(

I have a long barreled '85 "Buffalo" ( ie. brass frame) with a detachable stock.  Just a "neat toy" to have   :)

I have two, one I built many years ago from a Navy Arms revolver (before Uberti ever made the carbine).  The other is the Uberti made carbine you mention, but I bought it back when the price was far more reasonable ($350).  They are fun to shoot, but you need eye and face protection, as the fired cap debris comes straight back, unlike the side-lock rifle, where it's off to the right.

Also keep the support hand behind the cylinder.  With an R&D (Howell) cylinder, it can hit a 200 yard steel target with 45 Colt.

I'm definitely in that group. But I agree, they're not at all practical, so the little beauty still sits at the bottom of my wish list.  :'(

@Wolfgang - Sweet "toy"!  Man, my wish list won't stop growing!!! ;D

@Freedom - You probably know this, but Cabela's sells them new. They do pop up used, but they are pretty rare. I think I've seen 2 in 2 years on the local "for sale" website.

Twards the end of  "Good, Bad, Ugly" there is a "baddie" in the roof with one, shooting at Blondie and Tuco, . . . he misses ( of course ) either Blondie or Tuco ( I furget which ) spins and gets him with one shot from the hip with a pistol.   That is HOLLYWIERD . . . Italian style  ::)  Nice to see the Remington Revolving Rifle though.   :)

I have a new unfired in the box Uberti Remington for sale.  I had two but just sold one(will mail out on Monday) for $450 plus $30 shipping.  The last one was made in 1992 and I will sell for $450 including shipping.  It does have a very faint ring on cylinder and that is the reason for the price reduction.

This is on GunBroker, and ends tomorrow or the next day. Looks awesome, wish I could pick it up, but I'm Just looking for a regular revolver version now.

$350 is the opening bid, and no bids so far:

Yes, that is more like it as far as price goes.. Thank you for posting this!... I still can't believe I missed the one for $450 with the extra Kirst Konverter for it. (thanks to GunJoker)

But that is the big problem with GunJoKer...seems that they will not let new accounts be approved.. we had a thread started on another forum that has about 50 of us bashing GunJoker for the lack of respect it has been showing folks that would like to buy >:( ???.. then the Mods shut the topic down and removed it :P ;D

Thank you drjldavis also for the post and offer ;) I sure do appreciate it... That is a very fair offer, just a little to rich for my blood right now... But it sure beats Cabela's $550 :o

This is probably way too late, but having one, I can assure you they are great shooters!  You MUST!!!!!!!!! wear eye protection and face protection is a real help - you will burn your cheeks with cap flash/fragments - simply a matter of proximate to the firing point.  Mine is a good solid 2" shooter at 50 yards, as have been the other 3 that I've known about. These are very real guns - fun, accurate and as powerful as 30 grains of black behind a round ball can make them.  Great chuck gun for close range, or drop the charge a bit and make a squirrel gun out of one.  Called in foxes or coyotes are well within the capabilities, not to mention rabbits.  We haven't had enough rabbits to hunt here in Western New York due to the combined depredation of hawks and coyotes in the past 15 years anywhere I hunt.  Anyway it's a worthwhile firearm.
