No it is not my gun.  But with the recent discussions on making 1st model Richards, I pulled up these photos.  Ron Snover, The Ottway Smith, showed this one that he had built to me at Mule Camp '08.  I only have the two pics.  I seem to recall him saying he had built it from a '51 Richards-Mason, but if so then he put an Opentop barrel on it.  And I don't recall if he did the engraving or not (boy I'm just full of info ain't I?)  But I do recall him saying it was a lot of work and he didn't want to take on doing any more.  But that was a while back, maybe he changed his mind by now  ;)

Ron built the guns (he built a pair) from '51 RM Navys.  He had to re-machine the cylinder and a make the conversion ring from scratch.  The barrels are round Open Top barrels.  Ron out sourced the engraving and I don't remember who he said he had do it.
The guns are not safe queens either.  He shoots them on a regular basis.
Wish they were mine.

PS:  NO, he doesn't want to make another pair or even one.  Durn it!!

And, he shoots them well.

I bought his spare opentop, it is better than my slicked up main guns.
